An Austin man was arrested at a Scottsburg veterinary clinic last Wednesday afternoon, Apr. 28, for possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
Scottsburg and Indiana State Police were called to the St. Clair Veterinary Clinic on US 31 just south of Scottsburg High School by clinic employees.
Employees of the vet clinic became alarmed and called police when Bradley Amburgey, 32, of Austin, went into the rest room at the clinic and stayed for a lengthy period of time, according to ISP Sgt. Jerry Goodin. After Amburgey came out of the rest room an employee of the vet clinic went into the rest room and allegedly found a yellow powdery substance on the sink and floor, Goodin reported.
When Scottsburg City Police Officer Richie Barton and ISP trooper Tracy Spencer arrived at the vet’s office to speak with Amburgey, trooper Spencer noticed Amburgey had a yellow substance on his face, Goodin said.
Amburgey was found to be in possession of a prescription bottle that did not belong to him containing seven yellow tablets identified as Hydrocodone, a controlled substance.
Amburgey was placed under arrest and incarcerated at the Scott County Jail.
