Austin residents will enjoy a day of Christmas cheer with this year’s annual Christmas Parade featuring a community Open House following the parade. The Austin Christmas Parade will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2.
The Parade route will start on W Frontage Road located in the Industrial Park along I-65 head south on Frontage Road to State Road 256 to the Jennings Township Volunteer Fire Department located west of Austin City Hall.
Santa Claus will come to town in this year’s parade. He will be joined by Mrs. Claus, other floats, and parade attractions. There are many spots along Frontage Road and State Road 256 for residents to watch the parade.
Adults and children alike will enjoy the sounds of the Christmas season during the parade with a marching performance by the AHS band. In addition, there will be musical entertainment during the Open House at the local fire department following the parade.
The parade is sure to offer the usual set of participants including a host of classic cars, the AHS band, and a number of local church and civic groups.
