Scott County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Craig Road in southern Scott County on Tuesday, March 17, where two men were arguing. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with one of the me involved in the argument, and he advised the other person left the area after “pointing a handgun at him and his mother, and verbally stating he was returning in 30 minutes to kill him”.

The victim said the man who left the scene was Trenton Hearin, 25, of the 900 block of North Shea Road, Scottsburg. Deputies located Hearin at his residence and after speaking with him about the altercation, he was placed under arrest.
While processing Hearin’s vehicle for impound, deputies located illegal drugs. Hearin was booked into Scott Couny Jail a 6:11 p.m. facing 2 counts of intimidation with a deadly weapon, 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance, neglect of a dependent, pointing a firearm at another person, and intimidation.
Scott Circuit Court Judge Jason Mount set Hearin’s bond at $50,000. Hearin bonded out of jail at 10 a.m. on March 26.
