Austin City Council honored four Austin High School students for their success in with winning the state title for the Fine Arts Academic Bowl at their regular meeting on May 14. Fine Arts includes music and visual artwork.
These students competed against other schools earlier this month coming home with the highest score out of every school against which they competed. The last time Austin High School won state for Fine Arts was in 1997.
Gary Schotter, the coach for the team said that the experience was “out of this world” and he was looking forward to a possible repeat of winning state next year if the team is given the opportunity.
