A rural Scott County man turned himself in to authorities last Tuesday, Feb. 23, following the issuance of an arrest warrant for dealing in marijuana over 10 pounds, maintaining a common nuisance and being a habitual offender.
Steven D. Sipe, 37, of 3776 East Plymouth Road, Scottsburg turned himself in at Scott County Jail.
Indiana State Police officers as well as federal Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents, along with Scott County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a search of Sipes’ residence in late January
The search warrant was the result of an investigation conducted by troopers of drug dealing taking place at the residence. During the search warrant officers located approximately twenty-eight pounds of marijuana in an outbuilding near the residence.
The approximate street value of the seized marijuana is $50,000.00, according to ISP Sgt. Jerry Goodin.
