Shane E. Forwalt of Jennings County, was sentenced on Tuesday, Dec. 13, for hunting on private property without the landowner’s consent, a violation of Indiana Code 14-22-10-1(1), according to Indiana Conservation authorities.
Indiana Conservation Officer Cpl. William Beville, along with deputies from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, investigated the property owner’s complaint of the incident that occurred on November 14, 2010.
As the result of plea negotiations between Forwalt, his attorney, and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Donna Marsh, Forwalt pled guilty to a misdemeanor and was sentenced to ten days in the Jennings County jail by Jennings Superior Court Judge Gary Smith.
Additionally, Forwalt had all hunting privileges suspended for one year and was assessed $231 in fine, court cost and fees.
