According to the Jackson County Clerk’s office official vote totals for the Crothersville Municipal election found some upsets.
Republican challenger Michele Teipen defeated incumbent Democrat Nalona Bush 184-172 for clerk-treasurer.
Elected to serve on the town council beginning January 1 is Lenvel “Butch” Robinson, Ardell Mitchell and Derrick Minton.
Political newcomer, Democrat Lenvel ‘Butch’ Robinson led the voting or town council with 260 votes.
Incumbent Republican Ardell Mitchell polled 164 votes and political newcomer Republican Derrick Minton gathered 154 votes.
Danieta Gullett Foster received 143 votes, Rex Robinson 133 votes and incumbent Democrat councilwoman Karen Mains polled 132 votes.
