Kelsey Hoskins adds a family to the FFA angel tree while Leah Schill and Denise Maxie hang an ornament on the tree indicating a financial contribution from a local individual.

This week kicks off the annual Crothersville FFA Toy & Food Drive and although a couple of activities and businesses have already given to the cause, now is the chance for individuals and families to participate.
The FFA chapter has organized several ways in which individuals can do that. One is to purchase an ornament for the tree at school just outside of the CHS gym. Ornaments come in a variety of sizes and prices.
“Another way is to support the drive is to adopt an angel from our angel tree,” said Kelsey Hoskins “The angel tree program is new this year where there are 24 families (angels) that need adoption.”
“Another way to give to the drive is to bring non-perishable food to the school between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.,” said FFA President Leah Schill.
Angels and ornaments can be purchased during school hours or at any home ballgame the month of December.
“All early signs indicate that the need is greater this year.” said FFA Advisor Linda Maxie.
All items donated will be delivered to families in the Vernon Township area. For more information about how to donate, please call the high school at 793-2051.
