Interested parties owning real estate within and near the described annexation area are hereby notified that the Town Council for the Town of Crothersville, Indiana, adopted an ordinance annexing the described territory into the Town of Crothersville. The ordinance was adopted September 1, 2026.

“An Ordinance for the Voluntary Annexation of Real Estate to the Town of Crothersville, Indiana”
WHEREAS, IC 36-4-3 et seq. permits municipal corporations to annex territory contiguous to its external boundaries; and
WHEREAS, IC 36-4-3 et seq. authorizes the Town Council to define the corporate boundaries of the Town of Crothersville, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, The Town of Crothersville, Indiana desires to annex this real estate more fully
described in Ordinance 2026-7; and
WHEREAS, The Town of Crothersville has followed all processes and procedures required by statute; and
WHEREAS, The Town Council of the Town of Crothersville, Indiana, now determines that the real estate described herein should be annexed into the Town of Crothersville, Indiana.
NOW, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF CROTHERSVILLE, INDIANA:
Section 1: Pursuant to IC 36-4-3 et seq., the described real estate, being approximately 40.84 acres, which is contiguous to the corporate boundaries of the Town of Crothersville, is hereby annexed to and declared to be a part thereof:
Section 2: All prior ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with any provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the appropriate public hearings, passage of the ordinance, approval by the Town Council, publication, and recording, all as by law provided.
ADOPTED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL this 1st day of September, 2026.

TO ISSUE BONDS OF THE TOWN OF CROTHERSVILLE, INDIANA
The taxpayers of the Town of Crothersville, Indiana (the “Town”) are hereby given notice that the Town Council of the Town determined, at its Meeting held October 6, 2026, to issue general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $638,000 (the “Bonds”). The proceeds of the Bonds will be used to finance: (a) street light improvements, acquisition of holiday decor and sidewalk improvements; (b) police vehicles, equipment and related items, (c) parks capital improvements; (d) lift for the utility department; and (e) other equipment and maintenance items as determined by the Town (collectively, the “Project”). The proceeds of the Bonds will also be used to pay preliminary expenses related to such Project and all related and incidental expenses incurred in connection therewith, and to pay the costs of selling and issuing the Bonds.
The proposed Bonds will have a final maturity no later than January 15, 2030, and will bear interest at a rate or rates not exceeding 6.00% per annum, the exact rate or rates to be determined by bidding. The Bonds will be payable from ad valorem property taxes levied and collected on all taxable property within the Town.

The Petition alleges that Indy Wells’s consent to adoption is not required because, while the child has been in the custody of the Petitioners, he failed without justifiable cause to communicate significantly with the child for at least one year when able to do so and/or knowingly failed to provide for the child’s care and support for at least one year when able to do so as required by law or judicial decree.
If Indy Wells wishes to contest the adoption, he must file a written motion stating his grounds for contesting it in the Scott Superior Court within fifteen (15) days after service of this Notice. If he does not timely file a motion to contest, the Court will hear and determine the Petition for Adoption, his consent will be irrevocably implied, and he will lose the right to contest the adoption or the validity of his implied consent.
No statement made to Indy Wells relieves him of his obligations under this Notice. This Notice does not set out all of his obligations under Indiana’s adoption laws. He should consult the Indiana adoption statutes and an attorney.
