A Jackson County man faces numerous drug charges after under cover officers purchased drugs from him, law enforcement reported.

Devin Ray Moore, 29, of Seymour was arrested on felony charges of dealing methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance and dealing in marijuana; and a misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Moore’s arrest stems from an investigation into controlled drug buys at his home in the 300 block of Parkland Avenue in The Village Green.

On July 28 county officers obtained a search warrant for that home and during the search, they reported finding 92 grams (3.25 oz.) of methamphetamine, 3.19 grams of cocaine, 58 Xanax pills, 120 grams (1/4 of a pound) of marijuana and over $5,900 in cash were seized as evidence. Two of the bills seized were identified as part of those used to conduct police controlled drug buys, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Three children also were inside the residence when officers arrived, according to the court document. Hey were identified a children of Moore’s sister who lives at the residence along with her mother and grandmother.

Court records show that Moore had been arrested for dealing, possession and theft in April and May of this year.

County officers involved in the investigation were Justin Amos, Mark Holt and Alan Jones along with Sgt. Jesse Hutchinson and detectives J. L. McElfresh and Clint Burcham, and Seymour Police Sgt. Adam Surface.

Moore was booked into the Jackson County Jail at 11:38 a.m. July 28 where he is being held on a $200,000 bond.
