A vehicle pursuit through two counties concluded with the use of a PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique) maneuver on I-65 by Indiana State Police officers.
Around 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, Senior Trooper Randel Miller from the ISP Drug Interdiction Unit attempted to stop a blue Chevrolet Trailblazer for following too closely on southbound I-65 near the 51-mile marker at Seymour.

The driver, identified as 34-year-old Kyle Edward Jurkovic of Joliet, IL, refused to stop and accelerated away from the trooper.
Jurkovic fled south on I-65 at speeds sometimes exceeding 100 mph. Multiple units from the ISP and local law enforcement agencies responded to assist, but Jurkovic continued southbound weaving through traffic, reported ISP Sgt. Carey Huls.
The pursuit continued into Scott County, where a Scott County deputy successfully deployed Stop Stick tire deflation device, which Jurkovic struck with at least one tire. Continuing south, he exited onto State Road 56 at the Scottsburg and attempted to re-enter I-65 on the northbound ramp.

As Jurkovic accelerated northbound on the ramp, Trooper Miller executed the PIT maneuver on the Trailblazer, bringing the pursuit to a stop as the Blazer spun off the on-ramp and overturned onto the emergency lane of northbound I-65.
Jurkovic was taken into custody. After medical personnel assessed Jurkovic, officers booked him into the Jackson County Jail at 4:43 p.m..
Jurkovic has been charged with a felony charge of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
