A brand-new School-Based Health Center located within the Austin Elementary School in Scott County will be opening this summer, it was announced this week. The Healthy Eagle Clinic is a partnership between Well Care Community Health (WCCH) and Scott County School District 1 and will open for care Summer 2025.

The Healthy Eagle Clinic will serve all students and staff in SCSD 1 elementary, middle, and high schools. The Healthy Eagle Clinic will offer a wide range of services including:

•Comprehensive primary care

•Acute and same-day care

•Wellness exams and sports physicals

•Psychiatric services

•Health education and referrals when needed

The Healthy Eagle Clinic also offers on-site translation services and works closely with school nurses, counselors, therapists, and faculty to ensure whole-person care.

The Healthy Eagle Clinic will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. year-round. While the new Healthy Eagle Clinic is only open to SCSD 1 students and staff, the main clinic Well Care Community Health– Foundations Family Medicine at 25 E. Main Street in Austin, is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This initiative is made possible through a generous grant from the Morgan family and the support of SCSD 1.

Dr. William Cooke’s Foundation Family Medicine has served the community for two decades and merged with Well Care Community Health in 2023 now serving as Well Care Community Health– Foundations Family Medicine Austin. The health center continues to focus on the longstanding pillars of quality patient-centered, and evidence-based care with a commitment to health and wellness. This clinical approach includes case management, peer support, and collaboration with community partners.
