Driving erratically resulted in a Jackson County woman going to jail on a variety of drug charges and dealing methamphetamine last week.

Seymour Police Officer Davis Huynh pulled over a Red Chevrolet HHR late Tuesday night, Feb. 4, on East Tipton Street for driving left of center.

The driver, Susan Michelle Schroer, 47, of the 900 block of Katherine Court in Seymour explained that she was feeling sick and was coughing resulting in the swerving in her driving, according to the probable cause affidavit.

After Schroer gave the officer permission to search her vehicle, he located a multi-colored bag containing a blue medicine bottle with rolled up plastic baggies containing a green leafy substance and substance with a long stem and cap which later was identified as Psilicybin mushrooms.

When the officer asked Schroer is the substance was marijuana she replied “I believe so…as far as I know. I took it from my daughter.”

The officer asked if there were any more drugs in the car she replied “no”.

However, continuing his search the law enforcement officer uncovered two plastic bags containing a crystal like substance, a plastic bag with a brown crystal like substance, digital scales, and two glass smoking pipes with residue, according to the PCA.

When the officer inquired who does the meth and marijuana belong to, Schroer said the marijuana was hers and the rest belonged to her daughter and daughter’s boyfriend.

According to the court document, Schroer asked officers to obtain information off her cell phone. Officer Chris Knight then requested to search Schroer’s phone to which she gave consent.

In reviewing her phone, Officer Knight asked Schroer about text messages referencing the availability and weight of drugs. Schroer directed officers to a text conversation she had with her drug contact is Louisville, KY. She told officers that she goes to Louisville once a week and picks up about a quarter pound of drugs to sell.

Officers took possession of Schroer’s cell phone and smart watch.

While being transported to Jackson County Jail, Schroer told Huynh that she had more methamphetamine in her front sweater pocket. Officers located a cigarette box containing a rolled plastic bag with over 66 grams of crystal like substance that Schroer confirmed to be methamphetamine, according to the court document.

Schroer was booked into Jackson County Jail at 1:51 a.m. and faces felony charges of dealing methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor charged of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
