Two Ohio men believed to have committed an armed robbery in Kentucky were arrested Wednesday night after a multi-county pursuit, according to Master Trooper Philip T. Hensley
Around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, the Bullitt County, Kentucky Sheriff’s Office contacted the Indiana State Police Regional Dispatch Center in Versailles, requesting Troopers check the area of Henryville, Indiana for two suspects believed to have committed an armed robbery.
Bullitt County law enforcement believed that the individuals were in a Ford F150 pickup that they had just stolen.
At 10:49, Scottsburg Police and Scott County deputies observed the truck in the Wendy’s parking lot and the two men attempted to flee. Police began pursuing the Ford east on State Road 56 to State Road 3, and north on State Road 3 into Jefferson County. The pursuit continued through Jefferson County into Jennings County at speeds reaching 100 miles per hour. Along State Road 3 near County Road 650 South, Troopers conducted a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT), causing the Ford to leave the west side of the roadway.
The driver, 45-year-old Daniel York, of Evansville, attempted to run from the scene but was caught and placed into custody by officers with the Austin Police Department. The passenger, 62-year-old Everett Kline, of Wheelersburg, OH, was placed into custody without incident at the scene of the crash.
Both York and Kline were lodged in the Scott County Jail,
In addition to being wanted for their alleged involvement in an armed robbery and vehicle theft through Bullitt County, Kentucky, both men were wanted on outstanding court warrants.
York was wanted through Perry County, IN on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia, as well as through Vanderburgh County, on charges of battery resulting in bodily injury, criminal mischief, unauthorized entry into a vehicle, and public intoxication.
York now faces additional charges in Scott Circuit Court for resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, possession of stolen property, possession of stolen vehicle, reckless driving, and driving under the influence. Circuit Court Magistrate Alison T. Frazier set his bond at $100,000 full cash only
Kline was wanted through Scioto County, Ohio for a probation violation now faces additional felony charges of possession of stolen property, possession of stolen vehicle,
