Keeth Lucas, 54, of Scottsburg, formerly of Crothersville, was sentenced on Oct. 15 to 10 years in prison for dealing methamphetamine a Level 2 Felony. The entirety of the sentence is to be served behind bars, according to Scott County Prosecutor Chris Owens.
On April 18, 2022, officers with the Indiana State Police located Lucas in a vehicle in the parking lot of a local business and arrested him for a parole violation. In his vehicle, officers located numerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, including approximately 35 grams of methamphetamine.
Upon taking Lucas to the Scott County Jail, the officers discovered Lucas had almost three grams of methamphetamine in his front pants pocket.
Owens said that the sentence Lucas received for this case will start after he completes a sentence for a case out of Floyd County for felony possession of methamphetamine. In that case, Lucas’s probation was revoked for a period of 552 days, which was served while in the Scott County Jail.
“This is just another example of how the Scot County Prosecutor’s Office is committed to removing career criminals from our streets,” said Owens. “We are going to use every tool in our toolbox to see that people are held accountable for their criminal actions.”
Deputy Prosecutor Mark Kiesler handled the case for Scott County.
