Jackson County property tax bills will be dropped in the mail next Wednesday, April 5, to county property owners, Jackson County Treasurer Kathy Hohenstreiter said earlier this week.

Wednesday, May 10 is the payment due date for Spring installments.

“You can use the US Postal Service or the after-hours drop box located at the Sugar Street (rear) entrance to the Historic Courthouse,” she said. Payments are also accepted in person at the treasurer’s office in the courthouse.

Payment by credit card or e-check can be made through the county’s website at www.JacksonCounty.in.gov. Links will be found on the home page to the Treasurer’s page.

She noted at an additional convenience fee will be charged by the credit card servicing company.

“Property owners can use one of the four locations of The Peoples Bank and the State Bank of Medora to make property tax payments,” she said.
