Six law enforcement agencies converged to a rental home in Vienna in southern Scott County in the early morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 6, to break up a large crowd at a party across from the Vienna-Finley Elementary School
According to Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin, a call from a local resident about a vehicle , partially blocking the roadway obstructing traffic began the investigation.
Scott County Deputy Zach Brown approached the residence where the vehicle was parked and made contact with an occupant. During the discussion, the deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the residence.
Brown and other Scott County Deputies sought a search warrant for the residence at 498 E. State Road 356 in Vienna.
Upon receipt of the search warrant, deputies with assistance from Scottsburg City Police Department, Austin City Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriffs Office, Washington County Sheriffs Office, and the Clark County Sheriffs Office conducted a search of the residence.
Authorities discovered approximately 50 people inside the residence along with two handguns, marijuana, over 2 ounces of a controlled substance.
Thirteen adult offenders, from Louisville, Kentucky, New Albany, Georgetown, and Scottsburg, were arrested and transported to the Scott County Jail.
Those adults arrested included
•Lacee Carrasco, 24, Scottsburg; charged with disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
•Yarya Williams, 24, Scottsburg; charged with possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct, visiting a common nuisance, contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The following were charged with disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, and visiting a common nuisance:
•Steve Joway, 19, Louisville, KY.
•Deandrea Brackens, 18, Louisville, KY.
•Deairra Brackens, 18, Louisville, KY.
•Kierra Carrasco, 18, Georgetown.
•David McNeary, 29, New Albany.
•Kiera Lames, 18, New Albany.
•Athoba Dut, 19, no address given.
•Quinton Overton, 21, no address given.
•James Tutt, 26, no address given.
Charged withg refusal to identify and disorderly conduct:
•Isaac Bridgewater, 19 no address given.
• Bryant Davidson, 18, Louisville, KY
Additionally 17 juveniles were also arrested at the scene and turned over to a parent after processing. Goodin said the juveniles will be adjudicated through Scott Circuit Court and the Scott County Probation Department.
“It was another citizen deputy who saw something suspicious and made a call to us,” said Goodin. “We thank them for the vigilance.”
