NOTICE OF (I) HEARING ON ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION AND (II) DETERMINATION TO ISSUE GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS, SERIES 2022

Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the Scott County School District 1 (the “School Corporation”) that the Board of School Trustees of the School Corporation (the “Board”) will meet at the School Corporation’s Administrative Building at 255 Highway 31 South, Austin, Indiana, at 6:30 p.m. (local time), on October 17, 2022, to consider the following additional appropriation of General Obligation Bonds, Series 2022 (“Bonds”) which the Board has determined to issue.  The Board considers such additional appropriation necessary to meet the need existing at this time:  An appropriation in the amount of not to exceed $945,000 on account of the construction, renovation of and improvements to the existing School Corporation facilities including, but not limited to, new tennis courts with storage building and restrooms, new weight room, removal of old tennis courts and repaving for parking lot, laser grade baseball/softball fields and reseed, and new maintenance building (collectively, the “Project”), and the incidental expenses in connection therewith and with the issuance of the Bonds on account thereof.  The funds to meet such additional appropriation are to be provided by the issuance and sale of the Bonds by the School Corporation.  The foregoing appropriation is in addition to all appropriations provided for in the existing budget and tax levy and a need for such appropriation exists by reason of the inadequacy of the present buildings to provide necessary school facilities in the School Corporation.  Taxpayers of the School Corporation appearing at said meeting shall have the right to be heard in respect to the additional appropriation.  The additional appropriation, if finally made, will be reported to the Department of Local Government Finance, in accordance with Indiana Code 6-1.1-18-5.

Taxpayers of the School Corporation are hereby further notified that the School Corporation has determined to issue the Bonds in accordance with Indiana Code 20-48-1-1, as amended, for the purpose of providing funds for undertaking the Project and the incidental expenses in connection therewith and with the issuance of the Bonds on account thereof.  This notice of determination is provided by the School Corporation pursuant to Indiana Code 6-1.1-20-5.

REGARDING DETERMINATION TO ISSUE BONDS OF THE CITY OF SCOTTSBURG REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

The taxpayers of the City of Scottsburg, Indiana (the “City”) are hereby given notice that the Redevelopment Commission (the “Commission”) of the City determined, at its meeting held September 13, 2022, to issue its Tax Increment Refunding Revenue Bonds of 2022 in an amount not to exceed $7,500,000 (the “Bonds”) for the purpose of providing for the payment of all or any portion of (a) certain utility improvements, roadway improvements, and related infrastructure improvements, which are located in, serving, or benefitting the North/West Allocation Area and South/East Allocation Area (collectively, the “Allocation Areas”); (b) refunding the Scottsburg Redevelopment District Tax Increment Revenue Bonds of 2015; and (c) the costs of selling and issuing the Bonds. The proposed Bonds will have a final maturity of no later than July 15, 2037. The Bonds will bear interest at a rate or rates not exceeding six percent (6%) per annum. The Bonds will be payable solely from tax increment revenues of the Commission derived from the Allocation Areas.
