Following the public hearing, the City will consider any input received and whether to award the public-private agreement to an offeror and take such other action as shall be necessary or desired. The proposals received for the Project and an explanation of the basis upon which the recommendation is being made are each available for public inspection at City Hall located at 80 West Main Street, Austin, Indiana 47102 during regular business hours. On or about December 17, 2021, the City of Austin intends to apply to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs for a grant from the State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Wastewater/Drinking Water Program. This program is funded by Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. These funds are to be used for a community development project that will include the following activities: Wastewater System Improvements consisting of relocating Lift Station No. 2 Force Main to discharge directly to the Austin Wastewater Treatment Plant and installing cured in place liners in the Lift Station No. 3 gravity sewers and relocate the Lift Station No. 3 Force Main to the Lift Station No. 2 drainage basin. The total amount of CDBG funds to be requested is $700,000.00. The amount of CDBG funds proposed to be used for activities that will benefit to low- and moderate-income persons is approximately $439,600.00. The Applicant also proposed to expend an estimated $593,300.00 in non-CDBG funds on the project. These non-CDBG funds will be derived from the following sources: TIF funds.
