In the early morning hours last Wednesday, Oct. 20, Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies and Crothersville Police served a Jackson Superior Court 1 warrant which resulting in the arrest of five people on drug related charges.

The focus of the warrant, Leroy D. Whitaker, 55, of 9990 E 500 S, Crothersville was charged with dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of syringe.

Also arrested in connection with the incident, according to Crothersville Chief of Police Matt Browning, were:

•April S. Albertson, 40, of Austin charged with possession of a syringe.

•Brent T. McVey, 56, of Crothersville charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Natasha Estelle Prosser, 35, of Crothersville charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Jennifer Leigh Chilton, 46, of Crothersville charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers found a pill bottle with black and gray tape around the lid with a pill, some brown substance which was tested positive as heroin and a 22.7 grams of a white substance tested to be methamphetamine, according to the probable cause affidavit.

In Whitaker’s mobile home officers found five cellphones, syringes, cleaning wipes, digital scales, baggies, rubber tie off bands, and glass smoking pipes, according to the court document.

Officers at the scene were Deputies Zach Elliott, Justin Amos, Aaron Wilkins, Ben Rudolph, and Jordan Hawn and Crothersville Police officers Matt Browning, Jonathon Tabor, and Mike Wieler.

All were incarcerated in Jackson Jail around 3 a.m. last Wednesday.
