The Crothersville Senior High School held Senior Scholarship Award presentations on Wednesday, May 5, in the CHS Cafetorium.
Principal Dr. Doug Ballinger introduced Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Adam Nicholson, Brian Hamp, and Dan Davis, as the presenters of the scholarships being awarded.
Lt. Adam Nicholson presented Jackson County Sheriff’s Department D.A.R.E Scholarships to Olivia Robinson and Christian Henry.
Brian Hamp, representing Jackson County Bank, awarded the Greater Seymour Trust Fund scholarship from the Kelso & Orpha Briner Fund to Grace Wilson. Wilson also received the Ivan E. Frische Fund scholarship.
Dan Davis, president & CEO of the Community Foundation of Jackson County, presented scholarships from the Elmer & Ida Lacey Scholarship Fund to Kate Frazier and David Rose.
He presented the Foundation’s Crothersville Community Scholarship Fund to Olivia Robinson.
Davis presented the Sertoma Club of Jackson County Scholarship to Madison Hunnicutt.
He said that the community foundation administers nearly 60 scholarships. “Since being established in 1992, the Foundation has granted more than $7 million is scholarships and grants and serves as a leader in the community in philanthropic matters and assist on a wide range of issues,” he said.
Many scholarships that were available that weren’t applied for this year. CHS Guidance Counselor Tim Crane reminded everyone that all of the scholarship forms and applications are now electronic and some are due by Aug. 1 for 2022
