The Scott County Sheriff’s Department continued it focus on drug activity arresting nine people last week on a variety of drug related charges.
On Wednesday, Nov. 24, Deputy Andy Brown arrested Devyn Dowls, 20 of South Bend for possession of narcotic drug, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Thursday, Nov. 25, Jail Officer Rebecca Hollan arrested Melissa Bowman, 48 of Seymour on a warrant for failure to appear for dealing in methamphetamine.
On Friday, Nov. 26, Deputy Eric Balingit arrested Courtney Luedeman, 32 of Crothersville for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and visiting a common nuisance.
That same day Deputy Balingit arrested Wesley Jones, 31 of Scottsburg, for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and visiting a common nuisance.
On Tuesday, Nov. 30, Deputy Shawn Mayer arrested Phillip Snyder, 43 of Lexington, for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and on a Jackson County. Court warrant.
On Wednesday, Dec. 1, at approximately 6:25 p.m., Deputy Josh Hammond arrested Jonathon Davis, 31 of Hendersonville, Tennessee after he had been pursued through two counties on Interstate 65. The reason for the driver fleeing is unknown but after the pursuit ended Davis was charged with resisting law enforcement, resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and reckless driving.
At 2:50 a.m. on Thursday Dec. 2, 2021, Deputy Johnny Coomer arrested Benton Shields, 19 of Lexington for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and visiting a common nuisance.
On Thursday, Dec. 2, Deputy John Hartman arrested Joseph Creech, 43 of Pekin. Deputies attempted to stop Joseph Creech after he caused a disturbance at a business in the Hardy Lake area. Deputies pursued him on State Road 256 east of Austin, but deputies did not get him to stop until the 41-mile marker at Uniontown on Interstate 65 in Jackson County. At this location he got stopped by traffic and was taken into custody. Creech was arrested for maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a legend drug, possession of narcotic drug, reckless driving, fleeing law enforcement in a vehicle and possession of scheduled substance and resisting law enforcement.
That same day, Jail Officer Racheal Weiss arrested Devin Coomer, 28 of Salem, on a warrant for possession of narcotic drug.
All were incarcerated at Scott County Jail.
