Early last week, a citizen tipped off police that some persons who had outstanding arrest warrants could be located at 5568 Johnny Johnson Road in eastern Scott County. When Scott County Sheriff’s deputies went to the residence last Tuesday, March 22, they saw a man running into the residence as they pulled into the driveway.
While searching for that individual, deputies encountered six other people in the dwelling.
One of the seven was identified as Darren Dolbeare, 47, of Blocher who authorities reported was wanted on an out-of-county warrant. When police placed him into custody, Dolbeare deputies found methamphetamine on him.
After placing Dolbeare into custody, deputies determined that neither he nor the other five subjects encountered was the male who had initially fled from deputies when they arrived.
Others in the home confirmed that the man who fled was Jacob Browning, who authorities determined was also wanted on an out-of-county warrant.
In searching the house for Browning, deputies located drug paraphernalia, an AK-47 style rifle, and a shotgun in a bedroom.
While securing the residence in preparation for obtaining a search warrant, deputies located Browning, 34, of New Albany hiding inside of a car in the garage.
After a search warrant was obtained, deputies located handguns, methamphetamine, drug dealing paraphernalia and high powered rifle and shotgun ammunition. Officers also located multiple precursors associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine. The Indiana State Police Clandestine lab team assisted during the search warrant, county authorities reported.
Arrested following the incident were:
•Darren Dolbeare, 47, of Blocher charged with dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, receiving stolen auto parts, and maintaining a common nuisance.
