The Crothersville Helping Hoosiers 4-H club met at the county fairgrounds on Wednesday, July 9. As a community service project, 21 club members, 4 leaders and 5 adult helpers gathered to paint 8 trash barrels for the upcoming fair. They painted the trash barrels 4-H green and painted their club name, four-leaf clovers and other flowers to the trash barrels.
Linda Maxie, club leader and fair board member, gave the members a tour of the fairgrounds and talked about the history of the fairgrounds and the upgrades and improvements that attendees would see at the county fair later this month. Pizza and refreshments were served.
A brief meeting was held, project record books were signed, and questions were answered regarding completion of projects. Savannah Wooten talked about her trip to 4-H Roundup, Mackenzie Farmer talked about 4-H camp, Denise Maxie talked about reporting on the fair each day, member Dillion Maxie is part of the 2008 4-H Royalty and member Erica Doyle talked about her successes at the horse and pony show held earlier in June.
Club leaders are Maxie, Kristie Farmer, Pam Johnson and Dawn Wooten.
