A traffic stop, on Nov. 4, on a county road north of Crothersville resulted in four rural Crothersville residents facing possession of methamphetamine charges in Jackson Circuit Court.
Crothersville Police officers Levi Caudill and Jacob Sharp pulled over a MAZDA MPV driven erratically by Natasha Prosser, 35, of Crothersville, according to the probable cause filed with Jackson County Prosecutor Jeff Chalfant.
After officers had the occupants exit the vehicle, a green plastic baggie with a white crystal substance was found in the front passenger cup holder. The contents later field tested positive as methamphetamine, according to the court document.
The driver and the vehicle’s occupants, Ralph Claxton, 52, Brent T. McVey, 56, and Brandon Glover, 33, all of Crothersville, all denied ownership of the baggie.
As a result police took the four to Jackson County Jail where they all face felony charges of possession of methamphetamine, according to Jackson Circuit Court records. In late October McVey and Prosser were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court records.
At book-in, McVey was determined by jail officials to have a medical issue. He was taken to Schneck Medical Center for evaluation before being transferred to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.
