
A semi tractor trailer caught on fire on souhbound lane of Interstate 65 at the 47.5 mile marker between Uniontown and Seymour early last Wednesday morning, Jan. 14.
Logan Isenhower with the Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department reported that the semi trailer’s brakes caught on fire resulting in the trailer becoming fully engulfed.
The fire was reported at 12:28 a.m., with Vernon Township the first department to arrive at the scene at 12:51 a.m.
Interstate 65 southbound was closed about four hours, reopening at 4:54 a.m. it was reported.
There was no report of the contents of the trailer nor the value of the loss.
Responding fire departments included Crothersville-Vernon Township, Jackson-Washington Township Volunteer Fire, Redding Township Volunteer Fire and Seymour Fire Departments.
