“Even through these uncharted times in our state and nation. the Scott County Prosecutor’s Office is fighting to see that Scott County is kept safe and that criminal offenders are held accountable for their actions,” said Owens. “Our office is like the rest of the country and is having to deal with being short staffed and other obstacles throughout this pandemic, but even with all of these hurdles we are working to make sure Scott County remains the great place we all know and love by holding wrongdoers accountable.”
The prosecutor expressed gratitude to the Austin Police Department, the Scottsburg Police Department, and the Scott County Sheriff’s Department for their work that led to the convictions. Deputy Prosecutor Mark Kiesler was responsible for obtaining the convictions, Owens said.
