An investigation that began in early July by Scott County Sheriff’s Detective Jacklyn Shofner resulted in the arrest of a Lawrence County man for child solicitation. On Wednesday, Aug. 18, Lance Alan Jacobs, 38, of Bedford, was arrested by Bedford Police Department on a Scott County arrest warrant for child solicitation. He was then transported to the Scott County Jail on Wednesday, Aug. 25. Scott Circuit Court Judge Jason Mount set Jacobs; bond at $50,000 cash. He remains incarcerated in Scott County Jail.
On Friday, Aug. 20, following an investigation by Scottsburg City Police, Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Guarneri arrested Daniel L. Wiesman, 37, of Crothersville, on a Scott Circuit Court warrant for sexual misconduct, sexual battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Judge Mount set Wiesman’s bond at $50,000 cash.
Wiesman is represented by attorney Mark J. Dove who, on Aug. 31, filed a motion for bail reduction. On Thursday, Sept. 2, the defendant filed a motion for an early trial. Judge Mount set hearing on both bail reduction and an early trial for Thursday, Sept. 16.
Wiesman remains incarcerated in Scott County Jail.
On Wednesday, Aug. 25, Kelsey Ferrell, 30, of Scottsburg was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for possession of methamphetamine. She was transported from Jackson County Jail, where she was sentenced on a charge of possession of a syringe, to Scott County Jail to face meth charges in Scott County.
On Sunday, Aug. 29, Deputy Charlie Morgan responded to a residence on a report of a problem. When he arrived he spoke with Ruby Howard, 58, of Scottsburg. He reported Howard’s behavior was erratic and Morgan’s investigation led to her arrest for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and maintaining a common nuisance.
Judge Mount set her bail at $35,000 corporate surety or $3,500 cash. She remains incarcerated in Scott county Jail.
