A Jackson County woman and her passenger escaped serious injury Thursday evening, just before 6 p.m., when she lost control of the 2008 Ford escape she was driving, ran off the south side of County Road 600 S west of Crothersville.
According to investigating officer, Jackson county Sheriff’s Deputy Jesse Hutchinson, Rebekah Spurgeon of Brownstown was driving east on the Crothersville-Tampico Pike (CR 600 S) when she drove off the roadway into a ditch and struck a culvert, went airborne and rolled over onto the vehicle’s top in a ditch.
Spurgeon, and a passenger in the vehicle, Lynne Tormoehlen, were transported to Schneck Medical Center by Jackson County EMS with non-life threatening injudies.
Hutchinson cited Spurgeon for no insurance, seat belt violation and expired license plates.
Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Firefighters Logan Isenhower and Jason Hillenburg, shown at left, were among the emergency responders on the scene.
