As the days get colder and as we turn the calendar to another month, we are reminded that the Christmas holiday season will be upon us soon. It is this time that the community comes together for the annual Toy & Food Drive in Crothersville. This will be the 20th anniversary for the event and organizers are working hard to surpass last year’s totals.
To help “kick start” the drive, the Crothersville VFW Post 1083 has donated $1,000 to the Crothersville FFA Chapter to start the campaign. The local post challenges other organizations to start looking for how they can contribute to the drive as well.
“We weren’t expecting this much this soon. This makes our members want to work that much harder to make this community and its leaders proud of us,” said Cody Brasher, Crothersville FFA President. He reminded residents that the chapter will be doing some special events to commemorate the food drive’s 20th anniversary.
