Two Scott County teenagers were killed in a single car accident Friday morning, Sept. 23, and a third teen received non-life threatening injuries, according to Indiana State Police Sgt. Jerry Goodin.

At about 7 a.m. Friday morning, deputies from the Scott County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle crash on Jack Morgan Road approximately a half of a mile north of State Road 256 east of Austin. When deputies arrived they discovered a 2005 Cadillac off of the west side of the road in a field.

Deputies reported they located two deceased males. The driver of the vehicle, Jacob Justice, 18, of Scottsburg, was thrown from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

The second deceased male, front seat passenger Cameron Prestegui, 16, of Austin, was in the crashed vehicle. He was wearing a seat belt, according to police.

A third occupant of the vehicle, back seat passenger, Jonathon Brown, 17, of Austin was injured and was transported to the Scott County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was wearing a seat belt, authorities reported.

Goodin said the investigation shows the 2005 Cadillac, was south on Jack Morgan Road, when for an unknown reason it left the roadway on the west side of the road, flipping and then hitting several wooden fence poles.

A crash reconstruction team from the Indiana State Police Post was called to the scene.

The investigation is continuing, Goodin said.
