The Crothersville Sesquicentennial Committee has been busy making plans for their monthly fund raising dinner to be held 4-8 p.m., Saturday, June 21 at the Crothersville Fire Department. The group has been having fund-raising dinners for the past 4 months to help raise funds for the Sesquicentennial celebration to be held September 11-14, 2008 in Crothersville.
“We are thrilled to announce that we will again have live music for the diner’s enjoyment at our June fund-raising dinner,” said dinner chair person Vickie Byrd.
Entertianing this month will be “Nell & Buck And The Country Ramblers”, a popular group of local musicians. Members of the country music band are Nell Lewis, Ivan “Buck” Harris, Sherrill Street, and Denver Sparkman, all from the Crothersville-Vernon Township area. “We might even have a mystery musician or two!” says Nell Lewis.
On the grill will be a choice of entrees: Barbecue or Lemon Pepper Chicken or Pulled Pork Barbecue Sandwich, with Chicken Drumsticks available for the youngsters; Oven Roasted Potatoes; Sweet Corn Medley; chilled assorted salads and desserts and drink. Prices range from $6.00 for Adults and children age 12 and older; $4.00 for childlren under age 12 and Free for infants and toddlers.
A silent auction will be held from 4-7:30 PM.
The funds for the Crothersville Sesquicentennial Committee are administered by the Community Foundation of Jackson County.
