A pre-sesquicentennial outdoor dance is being planned at Hamacher Hall next month.
According to Sarah E. Williamson, of ‘Events by Sarah,’ the Crothersville Founder’s Day Ball is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., on the Friday, August 8, in the newly constructed ‘Crothersville Memorial Gardens’, located beyond Hamacher Hall, Historical and Cultural Arts Center.
The Semi-Formal/Formal event is will be the grand finale to a Summer of fundraising for Hamacher Hall’s sesquicentennial efforts. The event theme, “A Starlight Waltz” will be an elegant black-tie evening of gourmet foods, delicious desserts, live band music, and dancing by moonlight.
Music will be provided by the Madison, Indiana based concert band, “Soundz of Dixieland.”
Tickets for The Crothersville Founders’ Day Ball are available at Hamacher Hall, Heritage Haus Cafe’, or may be reserved by calling 812-793-3632.
The cost for tickets are $48 for the evening and will include a catered gourmet dinner, annual membership to Hamacher Hall, table favors, your name inscribed on a brass placecard and added to the perpetual plaque, your name on various programs as patrons of the Historical and Cultural Arts Center, Reduced cost tickets to theater events, and other membership benefits.
Event Co-ordinator, and Party Planner, Sarah Williamson, of “Events by Sarah” has donated her time and energy to Hamacher Hall for the Founder’s Day Ball.
Several local businesses, and organizations are assisting with the decorations and planning and table favors.
“This gives us an opportunity to show off the Gardens and Fountain,” states organizer, Z. Madge Wilson. “The Summer Garden is a remarkable effort by Horticulturist, Jeffrey Slagle. He has given this community quite a wonderful gift of his talents. I think the community will be proud.”
This year’s festivities also marks the 5th anniversary for Hamacher Hall Director, Marcia C. Fleetwood.
“It’s been a long and exciting season getting ready for the 150th Anniversary of the town. I am especially excited about this year’s Social,” said Fleetwood, “as it marks my five year anniversary in the community and an important Sesquicentennial year for the town of Crothersville.”
All proceeds provide vital support for Hamacher Hall, Crothersville’s Historical and Cultural Arts Center.
