Seniors May Qualify For A Free Monthly Food Package

The Crothersville Senior Center is participating in a Commodity Supplemental Food Program for older adults age 60 and up who may received monthly food package containing an average of 40 pounds of food, which includes high protein items, grains, vegetables, juices and shelf stable milk. Powdered milk is included every other month.

In order to qualify you must be age 60 or older, live in Jackson County and meet the following income guideline: 1 person household monthly income of $ 1,211 or under, 2 persons-$1,640/mo., 3 persons-$2,069/mo. For each additional person in your household add $429.00.

To enroll call the Senior Center at 793-2523 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and talk with Sue to set up a time to come to the Crothersville Senior Center to fill out an application.

Bring with you proof of age and address: driver’s license, State ID, or birth certificate and proof of household income: Social Security letter, pension, pay stub or bank statement. Eligibility is based on Gross household income. Be sure to bring documentation that will show the gross income for all members of the household.
