A Scottsburg man was incarcerated following erratic behavior on Saturday. According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Jerry Goodin, Brian Jeremy Hess, 28, of Timber Haven Court, Scottsburg, drove to the Scott County Jail in Scottsburg on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 12 with a juvenile he was supervising. When at the jail he escorted the child into a visitor’s booth. He then left the child in the booth where a prisoner was awaiting a visit.
Hess then walked outside of the jail, walked north, stopped and started yelling and singing. Officers approached him and asked him to return inside of the jail. When he entered the jail he began beating his head against the wall of the jail.
Authorities took Hess into custody charging him with neglect of a dependant and Disorderly Conduct.
This investigation is continuing, Goodin said.
