A new Indiana law now prevents Crothersville residents from setting out televisions, DVD players, VCRs, cordless phones, and radios for collection by weekly Rumpke trash pick-up.
The Seymour Department of Public Works on 4th Street in Seymour does accept computers, monitors, printers, keyboards, speakers, scanners, fax machines and cell phones.
Goodwill in Seymour is able to accept and properly recycle from individual donors (not in bulk quantity) televisions, DVD Players & VCRs.
Best Way Jackson County Transfer Station at 975 S. Commerce will also accept televisions to be recycled, but there is a charge to the resident for recycling of televisions at that location. TVs less than 19″ is $10; 19″ or larger is $15.
