Nine members of the Crothersville FFA attended the 85th National FFA Convention at Indianapolis, last week. The theme of the convention was “GROW” with an emphasis centered around the number of people who are hungry in our world.
Along with the other over 50,000 FFA members from across the United States, local  members began the convention with a visit to the largest career show for youth in the country held in the convention center.  Every facet of agriculture was represented allowing students to further explore their personal career interests.
The opening session was held in Bankers Life Field house where members heard from National FFA Officers and guest speakers including Olympic Gold Medal winner, Scott Hamilton. Members were challenged and gained new ideas for their own chapter and sat personal goals after attending the convention.
The Crothersville contingent toured Ingredion, a corn starch manufacturing facility, to learn first hand how corn products are found in so many of the food items that we consume.
The evenings were capped off with entertainment ranging from a country music concert with Brantley Gilbert and The Band Perry to The World’s Toughest Rodeo.
