The Jackson County Solid Waste Management District offers four $1,000 scholarships annually to graduating seniors. This scholarship is available to seniors in any Jackson County High School or graduating home-schooled students.
Recipients of the grants must be able to demonstrate an interest in environmental affairs through an essay of 250 – 500 words describing the importance of recycling in today’s world.  Include what part you have had in recycling or environmental stewardship programs.
Applicants should attach the essay to a cover page that includes your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, high school you attend, or home school information, and your parents’ or guardians’ names.
Applications submitted in writing should be double-sided on recycled-content paper.

Recipients will be selected anonymously by the Jackson County Recycling District Citizen’s Advisory Committee.
All applications must be received by April 4, 2014.
