The Jackson County History will be hosting a free Genealogy Lock-in at the center’s Joe Robertson Genealogy Library located at 105 N. Spring St Brownstown, near the Jackson County Courthouse from 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday August 24.
Researchers will be on hand to help with research projects or completing Pioneer Society applications. The library contains all Jackson County Birth, Marriage, and Death records as well as funeral home records. They have some information from other counties both inside and out of Indiana. Ancestry.com will be available to use.
Seating is limited and reservations are required to attend. The Genealogy Library can be reached at 358-2118 and is open Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. the library is air conditioned, handicap accessible, and with free Wi-Fi.
