Crothersville 1st Graders Offer Their Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes
In a Thanksgiving Tradition, we asked first graders at Crothersville Elementary School to provide the Times readers the recipe for their favorite Thanksgiving dinner dish.
Their insights provide readers with some humorous observations of culinary styles.

First, I buy some cookie mix so I can make cookies. Next, I get an egg and mix them together. Last, I put it in the oven, and then I eat it.
First, you have to kill the turkey. Next, you skin the turkey. Last, then you cook the turkey and eat it.
First, I get a can of carrots. Next, I dump them in. Last, I cook them for 5 hours.

Oatmeal Pie…Emma Caudill
First, I get a box of oatmeal. Next, I put it into the pot for 2 hours to cook it and then eat it.
Baked Beans…Presleigh Angel
First, I have a can. Next, pour in the baked beans and cook them for a half an hour.
First, I put in the turkey in the oven and I cook it for an hour. Last, I eat it.
First, put sugar on the chicken. Then cook it for 7 minutes. Last, put it in the fridge for 4 minutes and eat it.
Use salt and sometimes pepper. Cook the turkey for 45 seconds and then get the turkey out of the oven when it is finished and then eat it!
Get cookie dough, then get little kisses and put them all in a pot. Put in the oven for 16 minutes. Then take it out and it should be hard and the kisses should be in them.
Put in the oven for 20 minutes. Cut it and then eat it!
Buy it and cook it before Thanksgiving for 10 minutes. Put it in the fridge until the next day. Then eat it on Thanksgiving!
Put it in the oven for 6 min. Take it out and put it on the table then the people come and eat it.
Put it in the oven for 30 minutes. Then you eat it.
You put it in the oven usually for 3 minutes. Cut it into slices then after that you get some and put it on your plate and eat it.
First catch the turkey. Take it home. Then cook it until everyone gets to grandmas. Then take it out and let all the people eat some.

Bake it for 100 hours. When it is done eat it!

Chop up pumpkins and take out the seeds. Then put in the bread in the oven for about 15 minutes or a couple of minutes longer. Then put a little bit of spice in it. Put some crème on it.
Get it from the woods. Then chop it up and heat up in the microwave for 20 minutes. Eat it!
Cut them up and put them in the pit. Take them out and eat them.
Put it in the oven for an hour. Get it out and eat it.
Put them in a pan and then melt butter. Then stir the butter up. Then bake them in the oven for 14 minutes. Put icing and put a strawberry on top.
Cook a lot of it in a bowl for 29 seconds. Then eat it!
Cook it on the oven for 6 minutes then eat it!
Buy the turkey from Wal-Mart. Go home and cook it for a little bit. Eat it!
Put it in the oven for 20 seconds. Take it out and eat it.
Put it in the oven for 1 hour and then eat it!
Buy it from Wal-Mart. Cook it for 25 minutes. Add seasoning then eat it!
Put it in the oven for about like 45 minutes. When it beeps you take it out of the oven. Then when it gets out of the oven you need to squeeze the juice out and add stuff to the inside. Then eat it!
Go to the store, like Wal-Mart, and bring it home. Then you put it in the oven for a little bit. Then put a tablecloth on the table and then use a fork and knife and slice the turkey. Next eat it!
