Crothersville 1st Graders Offer Their Thanksgiving Recipes
Aa a part of the Crothersville Times Thanksgiving tradition, we asked first graders at Crothersville Elementary to provide us with their recipes for their favorite holiday dish.
Their efforts are telling and often humorous.
We thank first grade instructors Ashley Spicer, Megan Bohall and Doris Wineinger for their assistance with this annual writing assignment
Macaroni & Cheese Brooke Bryant
Start with the macaroni and then add cheese. That’s how you make macaroni & cheese.
Turkey Coleman Huarez
First you hunt the turkey, then you pluck off the feathers because people do not like feathers. Then you bake it and eat it.
Cheeseburgers Kennadi Lakins
Put hamburger and cheese in a big white bowl. Put it in the microwave for 50 minutes. Me, Mom, Dad and Ean eat it all because Sissy does not like it.
Turkey Andrew Knieriem
Put the turkey in the oven for 60 minutes. Take it out and cut it and eat it.
Turkey Morgan Arbuckle
Hunt for a turkey, then cook it in the over for 3 or 4 hours. Then eat it!
Turkey Austin Campbell
Put the turkey in the oven for 10 minutes. Take it out and let it cool down. Eat it!
Turkey Jada White
Put turkey in a pan and cook it for 10 seconds. When it is done you are allowed to eat it.

Mom cooks it and checks on it. Then we eat it.

Mom goes to the store and buys chicken. She cooks it in the house. When it is done we eat it.
Pumpkin Ice Cream Reece Newland
You get a pumpkin, try to smash it and get out the guts. Put it in a big bowl. then put the bowl in the refrigerator for 3 or 2 days, Then take it out and eat it.
Turkey Jalen Gibson
You go hunting. You cook it for 3 hours. Then cut it. then eat it.
Pumpkin Pie Ella Plasse
You take the pumpkin stuff and put sugar in, then make crust. Pour the batter on the crust and then you put the top on it and put it in the oven for 1 hour. Then take it out and let it cool. Then you can eat it.
Pumpkin Pie Alexis Mazur
Get a pumpkin, bake it for 12 hours, then take it out and eat it.
Turkey Brayden Morris
You have to take the turkey’s temperature and then suck out the juices and put it in the over for 20 minutes. Take it out and unwrap it. Then eat it up.
Turkey Matthew Clouse
Take all the feathers off it and then put it in the oven for 10 hours. Then we eat it on Thanksgiving.

Put 3 1/2 quarters of salt and pepper on the turkey. Bake in 10 degree over for 11 minutes.
Blueberry Pie Joshua Lewis
Buy the crust at the store. Get the blueberries and a little blackberries at the store. Add 1 cup of sugar. Bake for 10 minutes in a 80 degree oven.
Chicken Felicity Brown
Wash the chicken. Add 1 scoop of salt and pepper. Bake for 10 minutes in a 5 degree oven.
Strawberry Pie Braden Lewis
Buy the crust at the store. Add strawberries and 1 piece of sugar. Bake for 14 minutes in a 20 degree oven.
Chicken Ridin Smallwood
Take the stuff out. Put it in a super hot oven for 30 minutes.
Pumpkin Pie Marcel Pitz
Mix crust with 4 inches of flour and 1 scoop of butter. Buy a can of pumpkin. Bake in a 60 degree over for 5 hours.
Stuffing Toni Huey
Take 2 pieces of bread and 1 teaspoon of pepper. Put in turkey. Bake for 5 minutes in a 10 degree oven.
Stuffing Brooklyn Parish
Take 1 spoon of salt, 2 pieces of bread 2 spoons of water and cook for a long time in a 50 degree oven.
Turkey Frankie Bowman
Put 2 big spoons of salt on the turkey. Put it in a pan. Bake for 11 minutes in an 80 degree oven.
Pumpkin Cookies Brooklynn Bowman
Buy cookie dough. Bake for 15 minutes in an 80 degree oven. Put icing on top.

Mom cooks it on the table for 10 minutes.

Put it in a pot. Put it in a 75 degree oven. Leave it until it is set.

My grandma puts a timer in the turkey. She puts the turkey in the oven and cooks it while we play. Then she takes it out and we eat it.

Mommy mashes the potatoes up. Then she puts butter on them. Then we ge our plate and we pick out our food to eat.

First you get a pumpkin. Slice it into a pie. Better put a little sugar on it.

First you kill a turkey. Then you take it to this place where they take the stuff out. Then you take it home and fry it. It’s juicy and good and then we eat it.

First you buy mashed potatoes. You wash them and put them in something. Peel them and put salt on them. Then cook them.
