An early look at the schedule of events for this year¹s Crothersville Lions Club Red, White & Blue Festival indicates a lot of wholesome family centered activities for everyone, according to festival director Sherry Bridges.
The 36th annual salute to our veterans and “Old Glory” will be June 9-11.
“All the entertainment is nearly full with a mix of country, bluegrass, gospel and rock and roll music,” said Bridges. “Also more school groups are taking part in this year¹s festival as a money maker for their organizations. The festival is a great opportunity for local organizations and school groups to make some cash and become involved in the community.”
The antique farm machinery show at the festival is becoming one of the bigger displays in southern Indiana. Kevin Hoevener said he is anticipating another great show.
The CHS Alumni Basketball game returns as well as volleyball and a 3-on-3 tournament.
Sarah Cole will oversee the Festival Talent show and she encourages everyone to start practicing now. “I hope to see a lot more local folks participate,” she said.
Bridges said there are a few booth spaces remaining and other events are still in the planning stages. ³If you would like to see an event at this year’s festival and would like to volunteer, give me a call,” she said.
The local Lions Club has secured Fiesta Carnival and are preparing for the annual festival parade which steps off June 11 at 4 p.m.
