The Crothersville Town Players will present the Dr. Seuss Christmas classic ‘The Grinch Who Stole Christmas’ as a dinner theatre this Saturday at Hamacher Hall.
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is a whimsical tale about a reclusive Grinch, who hates Christmas, becomes annoyed with the out-of-control Christmas festivities in Whoville, the town lying below his cave dwelling on Mt. Crumpit.  However, after the Grinch conspires to deprive the Who’s of their favorite holiday by sneaking into town on Christmas Eve to steal everything associated with the holiday, he learns that the spirit of Christmas goes much deeper than tinsel and toys.
Highlights of the presentation include local pianist Janet Nehrt leading audience participation sing-a-long Christmas tunes, “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” and the Clement Clarke Moore poem “T’was The Night Before Christmas.”
CTP Dorothy Bibb Rice will be presenting the popular A Walk Down Memory Lane, featuring Christmas Memories of Crothersville, which recounts the memories of her childhood and the simple life of early Crothersville.
The cast includes, Brenda Holzworth, Eunice Lacey, Bill Nagle, Linda Seals, Brayden Growe, Sandy Law, Alexandra Smith, Kim Mains, and J.W. Law as the Grinch.
The production will begin at 6:30.
Immediately following Saturday’s performance will be a Christmas Auction, conducted by local auctioneer, Terry Prine. The auction will include Holiday Decorations, Crothersville Souvenirs, and last minute gift ideas.
The dinner is being catered by volunteers and will include salad, holiday ham, au gratin potatoes, green beans, dinner roll, assorted desserts, iced tea, and coffee.
Tickets are $15. The playhouse for the Crothersville Town Players is located at Hamacher Hall, 211 East Howard Street.
