The final meeting of the Crothersville Sesquicentennial Committee was held October 9, at the Methodist Fellowship Hall in Crothersville. A group photo was taken after a pitch-in meal was shared. Commemorative items were presented to Ray Bachmann, President, Jackson County Historical Society.
CSC would like to thank residents, Crothersville Community Schools and staff, students, local businesses, media and non-profit organizations who helped to make the Sesquicentennial an historical event that will be remembered for years to come.
Photos shared by several individuals have been uploaded to the website at www.150 YearsAgo.org. The public is invited to visit the website and view or download their favorite photos, free of charge. Those interested in downloading photos are advised to do so soon, as the website will be deactivated at the end of December. Thank you to Zack Spicer, Chad Fleetwood, Linda Seals, Betty Norris, Christy Schill, Dr Joe Butler, Brenda Bradley, Jack Bradshaw, Robert & Rita Ibershoff for sharing their photos with the community. Historic Register: Any Crothersville or former residents who would like to sign the historic register for the Sesquicentennial are asked to stop by Crothersville Town Hall to do so. The local history journal, used in the 1958 Centennial and reopened for the Sesquicentennial, will be returned to owner the Crothersville Times at the first of the year to be archived for future use.
The Community Gospel Concert that had to be canceled on the last day of the Sesquicentennial due to a storm related power outage has been rescheduled for Sunday, November 2, at 5 p.m. at CHS Cafetorium. The entire community is invited to attend the free concert which will feature the gospel ministrities of two milti-talented groups: ‘Open Heart’ and ‘The Woodsmen’. This event, which will conclude the 2008 Crothersville Sesquicentennial, is sponsored by The Crothersville Ministerial Association and the Sesquicentennial Committee.

Special Living Flag Photos are available for purchase in time for Christmas. Please contact Betty Norris for info at 595-8808. Commemratives are still available at Town Hall and at Aunt Samantha’s Gift Shop, but some items are beginning to sell out. For more info on commemoratives, call 793-2311 or 793-2760.
Photo Bulletin Boards: Rita ibershoff is preparing two more photo boards of old photos to place in Town Hall in time for the Holidays.
