Attending the recent State FFA Convention on the campus of Purdue University were (front) Denise Maxie, Kaitlyn Hoevener; (rear) Derrick Maxie, Kelsey Hoskins, Jimmy Needler.
Five Crothersville FFA members traveled to West Lafayette recently to Purdue University for the 82nd annual Indiana FFA State Convention. Members participated in leadership contests, attended convention sessions, heard from motivational speakers, ran for offices, accepted awards, and voted on official state FFA business.
Kelsey Hoskins, Jimmy Needler, and Derrick Maxie participated in the State FFA Chorus. They crammed in several practices and gave two performances in front of the convention body.
Denise Maxie and Kailtyn Hoevener served as the delegates for the chapter. They voted on new constitutional amendments and elected state and district officers for the upcoming year.
The Crothersville chapter was recognized as a bronze emblem donor and achieved superior chapter status. The chapter received 4th place in the state for the Living to Serve Safety Initiative program and 10th in the state for the Living to Serve Community Initiative program.
Kelsey Hoskins and Denise Maxie were presented with the Hoosier Farmer Degree which is the highest degree that the state confers. Maxie also competed in the state essay contest.
