Gaby Walters, a 6th grader in Kara Hunt’s class at Crothersville Jr./Sr. High School was recently chosen as a winner in the Jackson County Sertoma Freedom Essay contest. Local sixth graders wrote a 300 word essay about “What Freedom Means to Me.”
Contest winners were honored on February 10 with a banquet at the First United Methodist Church in Seymour. Katie Stam, Miss America 2009, and Jackson Superior Court 2 Judge Bruce MacTavish were special guests speakers at the banquet.
