CARD (Crothersville Area Revitalization & Development) will host the Lighting of the Community Christmas Tree at the stop light this Saturday, November 28, at 6 p.m.
The pubic is invited to attend.
CARD will be giving away two holiday turkeys and hams during the lighting. Residents can register at town hall this week or before 6:45 p.m. this Friday at the lighting ceremony. You must be present to win.
The organization has also challenged everyone in Vernon Township to light up their homes or businesses for the holidays.
“We are having two contests with the winners receiving People’s Choice Trophies,” said spokesperson Tracy Karnes. “One contest is for the most People Choice nominations for the Best Decorated Outside Residence; the other is for the Best Decorated Business Christmas Tree.”
All nominations can be sent daily via email to musictjk@ymail.com or by dropping a note off to the Crothersville Town Hall. Nominations will be accepted until December 13.
“Santa will fly in and award the winning trophies on December 19,” said Karnes.
She also said the “Heirlooms from Our Sesquicentennial” Memoir Book has been published and can be purchased at the Crothersville Town Hall for $15.
During this past Saturday’s Crothersville FFA Craft Show, winners were drawn for prizes. Leanna Harper and Billy Deaton won the two gift baskets of sesquicentennial souvenirs and Tracy Karnes won the Christmas stationery set.
