‘Arts In The Ville’ Coming To Hamacher Hall Saturday

The Crothersville Historical and Cultural Arts Association will be celebrating the History and Art of Crothersville with ‘Arts In The Ville’ this Saturday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Hamacher Hall.

There is no admission charge.

Several area artisans will be setting up shop inside Hamacher Hall to exhibit their craft and sell their wares. Woodcraft, soap, candles, jewelry, and Crothersville memorabilia will be among the artistry.

The Crothersville Town Players will be on stage at various times during the event with historical information about local schools, churches, events, and fascinating people from our community’s past.

“Although there are several events in the area this weekend, we hope all those interested in Crothersville’s history and art will find this an opportunity to stop by Hamacher Hall,” said Brenda Holzworth, President of the Crothersville Historical and Cultural Arts Association. “We want ‘Arts in the ‘Ville’ to become an annual event. This is a family event, and the perfect place to purchase unique items for gifts or for yourself.”

Sloppy joes, hot dogs, and other concessions will be available at the event.

Organizers include group President, Brenda Holzworth; Vice-President, Bill Nagle; Secretary, Linda Seals; Treasurer, Eunice Lacey; and Memorial Garden Project Coordinator, Becky Wheeler.

“The Memorial Garden, which are located behind Hamacher Hall, is also getting ready for Arts In The ‘Ville.” said Wheeler, “Spring has finally arrived and we are working on new plantings and getting Smitty’s Fountain ready for the season.”

Crothersville’s Helping Hoosiers 4-H Club, under the direction of Pam Johnson, Kristie Farmer, and Linda Maxie painted garden markers and presented their artistic creations to Wheeler during the 4-H Club’s historical tour of Hamacher Hall on April 8. The Garden Markers will be exhibited during Saturday’s event.

The purpose of Arts In The Ville is to encourage the exploration and preservation of Crothersville history, and to promote interest in the cultural and performing arts. The Crothersville Historical and Cultural Arts Association is a non-profit group that depends on fundraisers and donations to maintain programs available for the citizens in and around Crothersville.

Memberships are available for $12 annual, or $6 for students. Monetary donations and volunteers are welcomed.
