Rob Combs of the Safety & Environmental Department with the Aisin Companies in Crothersville talked with students in Kyle Wilp’s first grade class last Friday about the importance of being environmentally responsible even in small ways.
All students at Crothersville Elementary got a hands on lesson about the things they can do to improve the environment by re-using, re-purposing and re-cycling when members of Aisin Drivetrain and Aisin Chemical spoke to each class this past Friday prior to Earth Day.
“ADI and ACIN of Crothersville recognize that the manufacturing of automotive and industrial components impact the environmental well-being of their members, communities and the earth,” said Combs. He noted that both companies are ISO Environmental Management System Certified.
“ADI and ACIN are zero landfill companies. That means all waste coming from our facilities is recycled or turned into renewable energy through incineration rather than sent to the landfills,” he said.
Conducted in conjunction with Earth Day this past Sunday, the local autmotive parts manufacturer gave all elementary students a pine tree to take home to plant.
