ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
JACKSON COUNTY, INDIANA
Residents and taxpayers of the Jackson County, Indiana (the “County”) are hereby notified that the County Council will hold a public hearing at 8:00 a.m. on August 21, 2019, in the Jackson County Courthouse Annex located at 220 East Walnut Street, Brownstown, Indiana, on the matter of appropriating funds for the purpose of procuring funds to pay for the costs of (a) renovations, improvements and upgrades to the existing County Courthouse, the County Courthouse Annex Building, the County Jail and any other County-owned buildings, including, but not limited to, various roofing, window painting, parking lot improvements, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, security and IT system repairs, upgrades, replacements or improvements; (b) acquisition of equipment to be used in connection with the operation of various County offices, including, but not limited to, copiers, printers, computers, servers, IT equipment and upgrades, voting machines and related equipment, and miscellaneous office furniture; (c) purchasing, updating and/or replacing certain public safety vehicles and equipment; (d) renovation, repair, maintenance or improvement of certain County bridges; and (e) miscellaneous capital improvement, renovation and/or equipping projects at one or more facilities operated or to be operated by the County, and all projects related to the foregoing and incidental expenses in connection therewith and (f) the costs of issuing and selling the bonds payable from ad valorem property taxes levied on property within the County (the “Bonds”). Such appropriation will be an amount not to exceed $1,500,000, plus any investment earnings thereon. Funds to cover said appropriation are to be provided from the proceeds of Bonds, together with any investment earnings thereon.
The appropriation is in addition to any appropriations provided for in the existing budget and tax levy. At the public hearing, all persons shall have the right to appear and be heard on the necessity of said appropriations.

Taxpayers of the Scott County Redevelopment District (“District”), and all other persons affected hereby, are notified that the Scott County Redevelopment Commission (“Commission”), did on February 11, 1998, adopt a declaratory resolution (“Declaratory Resolution”) and economic development plan (“Plan”), establishing the Northern Scott County Economic Development Area (“Area”), and the Declaratory Resolution was confirmed by a confirmatory resolution adopted on March 31, 1998 (collectively with the Declaratory Resolution, the “Area Resolution”). On July 3, 2019, the Commission adopted its Amending Declaratory Resolution (“Amending Declaratory Resolution”), amending the Area Resolution and Plan to add the construction of a building to serve as a substation and house fire trucks and fire equipment for the Jennings Township Fire department in order to serve the employers in the Area on the east side of the railroad tracks located near the Area, together with all necessary appurtenances, related improvements and equipment (“Project”) all in, serving or benefiting the Area.
The Amending Declaratory Resolution and supporting data, including a map of the Area, have been prepared and can be inspected at the office of the County Auditor, 1 East McClain Avenue, Suite 130, Scottsburg, Indiana.
Notice is further given that the Commission on August 5, 2019, at the hour of 11:00 am, local time, in the Commissioners Meeting Room, Suite 128, Courthouse, 1 East McClain Avenue, Scottsburg, Indiana, will receive and hear remonstrances from persons interested in or affected by the proceedings pertaining to the Amending Declaratory Resolution, the Project to be included in the Plan and determine the public utility and benefit of such actions. At the time fixed for hearing or at any time prior thereto any person interested in the proceedings may file a written remonstrance with the Secretary of the Commission in the office of the County Auditor. At such hearing, which may be adjourned from time to time, the Commission will hear all persons interested in the proceedings and all remonstrances that have been filed.
